I’ve got a special place in my heart for tough little guys, so it should be no surprise that a hot little wide receiver makes my list of the top 25 hotties of college football.
OK, so 5-9 185 isn’t considered small in the non-football world, but it’s tough for a guy that size to take the pounding Fresno State senior wide receiver Devon Wylie’s received going across the middle against NCAA-sized safeties and linebackers. Wylie is explosive, posting the fastest 40-yard dash times in Bulldog history, but he’s also missed parts of every season, including all but one game this year, with injuries.
Scouts have likened him to a Wes Welker type receiver but just because he’s white doesn’t mean he’s Welker like. Wylie’s got speed to stretch the field, Welker doesn’t. I’ll be keeping a close eye out for Wylie at the NFL combine next spring, he’s going to need an epic combine performance to allay those durability concerns.
Wiley’s likely to be a free agent signing who earns his way on to a special teams unit. Whatever the case I just hope he wears those little blue shorts to the combine.
