King-Father Norodom Sihanouk issued a royal letter this Friday to remind the public that he still supports Hun Xen as prime minister of Cambodia. The king-father indicated that his position on this issue will remain the same until the day he dies. The royal letter is released before the king-father and the adopted king-son will meet each other next week in Beijing.
In a brief letter written in French and dated 10 December, King-Father Norodom Sihanouk said that he still supports Hun Xen as the prime minister of Cambodia and this position, he has shown it several times in the past already.
From Beijing where he is undergoing medical care, the hero-king said in his missive titled “Communiqué” that he said and wrote on many occasions that he supports Hun Xen 100% in his position as government leader. The former king’s position will not change on this issue. The hero-king ended his letter by claiming that he is already retired, and he is no longer involved in politics anymore.
At the end of next week, Hun Xen will pay a visit to King-Father and Queen-Mother in their Beijing royal palace, China, during his official visit to China between 13 and 17 December. Hun Xen was invited to perform this visit by Wen Jiabao.
It should be noted that King-Father’s letter is published just one day after Hun Xen commented on the return of Prince Ranariddh to politics.
